The weather for the San Francisco 49ersBuffalo Bills contest may be much worse than initially expected.

As every Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers fan knows by now, heavy snow has hit the Orchard Park area. The Bills and 49ers will play in the snow under the bright ‘Sunday Night Football’ lights.

According to retired weather expert Tom Niziol, who previously worked at The Weather Channel and the National Service Network, lightning may end up hitting the Buffalo area and thus affect the football game:

If there are signs of lightning in the area, the game will be delayed for the safety of the players, stadium staffers and fans. If you’re a Buffalo Bills fan attending the game, stay safe and be sure to follow the advice of your local experts.

Buffalo Bills Look To Keep Pace For Top Seed In The AFC

The 9-2 Bills can stay within a game of the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC’s top seed with a victory. Buffalo has the head-to-head advantage over KC, but the Chiefs have to lose again if the Bills are to win the top seed.
