Houston Texans Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair’s cheap shot on Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence knocked him out of Sunday’s game. The dirty hit has headlined the NFL world, and CJ Stroud isn’t helping the situation.

“Prayers up for Trev. I hope Azeez learns from this, but you know I am still rocking with my brother. I know he didn’t intend to do that,” said Stroud during a postgame interview with Laura Okmin.

Of course, many NFL fans are destroying him for what he said.

Love brother Stroud But He looked like he meant to hurt him,” said one comment

“Not a fan of this dude. Something about him really rubs me the wrong way and I can’t even put my finger in what exactly it is,” said another.

“What a joke of a response, if he didn’t “intend it” then don’t keep fighting and cause a 2nd fight on top of it. Sorry CJ, guess it wasn’t you, so don’t stand up for other QBs either. Shocker,” added a third.

“Maybe he should see the replay first before commenting. Wonder if he’d be so ‘forgiving’ or rocking with someone if he was on the receiving end of a hit like that!” another pointed out.

Of course, it’s certainly not the kind of response you hear after a hit so violent, but at least Stroud is willing to have his teammates back when he’s at his lowest.

CJ Stroud Ended With A Decent Stat Line

The Texans would win the fame 23-20, and Stroud ended with a decent stat line, but nothing crazy.

He completed 22 of 34 passes for 242 yards, one touchdown, zero interceptions, and a passer rating of 95.5.

He may be in the middle of a sophomore slump, but Stroud has at least led the Texans to an 8-5 record, which is first in the AFC South. The Indianapolis Colts are the only team close in the division at 6-7.
