On Thursday night, a wild event occurred on the University of Colorado Boulder’s campus. A suspect involved in a hit-and-run accident ended up driving his truck onto Folsom Field, where the Buffaloes play their games.

The man was later identified as 48-year-old Karl E. Haglund from Massachusetts. However, his driving rampage didn’t start on Folsom Field but ended there.

According to the Boulder Police Department, officers initially responded to a crash near Foothills Parkway and Arapahoe Avenue when one car fled the scene.

Before making his way to the field, Haglund had already plowed through multiple trees and street signs before going straight through the gate and ending up at the 40-yard line of Folsom Field. Luckily, police were able to de-escalate the situation and arrested Haglund.

Luckily, the Buffaloes aren’t set to host a home game until Sept. 21 against Baylor, so there should be plenty of time for the grounds crew to fix any problems the event caused.

In other good news, it has been reported that nobody on campus suffered any injuries.

Colorado Buffaloes Have A Losing Record At Folsom Field Under Deion Sanders

The fans of the Colorado Buffaloes have shown out at every home game at Folsom Field since Deion Sanders took over as head coach in 2023.

However, the team has also had a losing record in that same amount of time.

In 2023, the team had a 2-4 record at Folsom, with their two wins coming against Nebraska and Colorado State in Weeks 2 and 3.

However, even if it is a small sample size, the Buffs are undefeated in 2024, with home-field advantage being 1-0 and a Week 1 win against North Dakota State. Of course, though, they will be truly tested very soon when they host Baylor.
