REPORT: 2 Women Nabbed in Shocking Murder Case of Rising Football Star, Mugshots Released (PICS)

Two women have been arrested in connection with the death of college football player Raymond Orozco.
Orozco was stabbed outside of a nightclub on July 20 in San Jose, California, and was pronounced dead on the scene after police responded to a call.
The 22-year-old was a player at a local community college.
According to KSBW, San Jose police have revealed that 20-year-old Mercedes Rosales and 18-year-old Micaela Van have been arrested as part of their investigations.
Rosales was arrested last Wednesday, and Van was later identified as a suspect.
Raymond Orozco Was Still Alive When Police Arrived At The Scene

The police report notes that officers responded to a call claiming a stabbing had taken place near 90 South 2nd Street and attempted to save Raymond Orozco’s life upon arrival, but to no avail. Rosales is said to have fled from the scene, with Van later arrested for being an accessory to murder.
This recent homicide brings the total in San Jose to 15 for the year.
The San Lorenzo Unified School District noted that Raymond Orozco graduated from San Lorenzo High School in 2021 and had played football for the school.
He was attending Chabot Community College, where he also played, at the time of his death.
