On Sunday, the Bengals lost their Week 1 matchup 10-16 against the New England Patriots. To make the game even worse for Bengals fans, quarterback Joe Burrow was spotted experiencing problems with his wrist.

While on the sideline, he was dealing with stiffness and swelling on his right wrist, which he recently had surgery on to repair a torn ligament.

However, popular sports doctor Jessee Morse noted that both symptoms are very normal for the specific kind of surgery he had.

His words should ease the minds of many fans as he’s also given very accurate opinions and information about the knee injury that Packers quarterback Jordan Love suffered on Friday.

Morse also noted in the comments of his tweet that these are symptoms that Burrow will likely be dealing with until he eventually retires. That means it’s something he will have to learn to play with.

Unfortunately, he didn’t seem to be able to in Week 1. He completed 21 of 29 passes for 164 yards, zero touchdowns, and no interceptions. Certainly not the same stat line most are used to seeing from Burrow.

Joe Burrow Missed Seven Games Last Season

In 2023, Joe Burrow missed multiple games because of an injury for the first time since 2020 when he tore his ACL.

Last season, it was because of the torn ligament in his wrist that he suffered in a loss against the Baltimore Ravens.

However, before the injury, he played extremely well in 10 games. He had thrown for 2,309 yards, 15 touchdowns, six interceptions, and a 66.8 completion percentage.

Hopefully, in 2024, he will be able to return to that position for his sake and to continue seeing high-level talent thrive.
