Cris Collinsworth has made it clear where he leans politically.

The former NFL wide receiver is gearing up for the new football season, which starts this Thursday, and will be covering tonight’s AFC Championship rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens alongside Mike Tirico.

Collinsworth, a three-time Pro Bowler who spent his entire career with the Cincinnati Bengals after coming out of Florida as a second-round pick, has previously shared his feelings on presidential hopeful Donald Trump.

The 67-year-old ‘Sunday Night Football’ host called for Trump to apologize to NFL players after he criticized them for kneeling during the national anthem.

“I would say he should apologize,” he said back in 2017. “They’re not S.O.B.’s, they’re smart, thoughtful guys, they really are.”

“Their version of how to get there is different than the president’s, I understand that, but I guarantee you if the president invited — I can make a list of 10 guys — to the White House and heard their stories, and heard their thoughts and heard how concerned they are about America, they would find the common ground, and they would move this forward,” he added.

“And I think an apology for the S.O.B. comment, right off the top, would go a long way.”

There should be plenty to say on politics during the early days of the inbound season, with the 2024 United States presidential elections set for November.

Cris Collinsworth May Have Tried Talking Tom Brady Out Of Broadcasting Gig

Meanwhile, Cris Collinsworth has implied that he attempted to dissuade Tom Brady from pursuing a career in the booth.

The ‘SNF’ host spoke to NFL Media’s Judy Battista about the advice he usually gives former players who want to enter broadcasting.

“I spend the first 10 minutes trying to talk them out of it — trying to tell them where the pain points are going to be,” he said. “It’s going to be hard. It’s a lot more work than you imagine. Usually, I can talk people out of it, or at least scare them a little bit.”

Collinsworth was one of the persons who spoke to Brady about the job ahead of the former quarterback’s move to FOX. Clearly, his advice didn’t resonate with TB12, who is set to begin his career as an analyst this season.
