Audrey Hepburn’s son reacts to Ivanka Trump’s inaugural ball gown tribute
Audrey Hepburn’s son chimed in on Ivanka Trump’s recent tribute to his mother.
On Monday night, the first daughter, 43, attended her father President Donald Trump’s inaugural ball in a custom Givenchy Haute Couture gown — which was a re-creation of the late Hollywood star’s look in the 1954 film “Sabrina.”
Hepburn’s son, Sean Hepburn Ferrer, 64, wasn’t at all surprised by Trump’s homage to the iconic actress.
“It is no wonder that growing up in a family which knew our mother as a household name she chose to draw inspiration from her, to seek the ultimate elegance and class reference, for an occasion such as this one – the inauguration and the 32nd anniversary of our mother’s passing and, most of all, Martin Luther King’s day,” he told the Daily Mail. “What a cocktail!”

“Over the past 71 years her legacy has grown to become transgenerational and transnational,” he continued. “Her elegance, which has its roots in her inner beauty and spirit, is often a reference point, an anchor, for many celebrities, actresses and models in these times in which we appear to have somewhat lost our way.”
Trump indeed took inspiration from the style icon, wearing a near-identical black-and-white strapless number with floral motifs and a ruffled trim.
She swapped the white gloves seen in the movie for a black pair, completing the look with a diamond necklace and flower-shaped studs from Leviev.
A rep told Page Six that Ivanka was “honored” to wear the piece.
She was also “incredibly grateful [to the] Arnault family and the Givenchy atelier for creating this masterpiece, capturing the original artistry and elegance with remarkable precision and craftsmanship.”
The rep added that Hepburn has long been a personal inspiration to Trump.
“She views it as a great privilege to honor her legacy in this way, and is incredibly grateful to the team at Givenchy for bringing this moment to life.”
