An NCAA referee’s classy actions during Saturday’s Celebration Bowl between Jackson State and SC State are going viral online.

The referee made an unnecessary roughness call during the first quarter of the game but took some time to pay tribute to United States military veterans with a clean salute before announcing the penalty.

Social Media Saluted The Referee After His Incredible Gesture Toward Vets In The Celebration Bowl

Fans on social media thought the ref’s patriotic act was wholesome.

“Proper country referee,” one wrote in the comments.

“This is GREAT,” said another.

“Love this! 🫡,” a third echoed.

“I’m getting his jersey!” a user claimed after Barstool Sports’ PFT Commenter reposted the video.

“Need to see if he got the call right before I decide how to feel about this,” someone joked.

“That salute was crisp AF,” another pointed out.

At the time of this writing, the JSU Tigers were leading the Bulldogs 21-6 in the fourth quarter of the Celebration Bowl.
