After a strong start to the 2024-25 NBA regular season, the Golden State Warriors face some challenges. Following a 104-94 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, the Warriors entered a five-game losing streak. This streak ended with a narrow 99-93 victory over the Houston Rockets. Out of their last seven games, the team has won only one, which has raised concerns among their fans.

Despite these struggles, the Warriors still hold the fifth spot in the Western Conference standings. They currently hold a record of 13 wins and nine losses. Amid these difficulties, Hoops Hype’s Michael Scotto reported that at least four Warriors players are reportedly on the trading block as the February trade deadline draws nearer.

“Forward Jonathan Kuminga is the young asset who’s drawn the most trade interest for Golden State over the years and is expected to do so again ahead of restricted free agency this summer. executives across the league believe Moody is a name to monitor on the trade market with a moveable salary. Scotto wrote in his recent reports.

According to Scotto, the four potential trade candidates for the Warriors include Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, De’Anthony Melton, and Gary Payton II.

Jonathan Kuminga Opts Out Of Contract Extension Discussions with Warriors

Melton recently underwent surgery that will end his season due to a partially torn ACL. Meanwhile, trade rumors surrounding Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga have intensified. Moreover, according to Scotto, Kuminga and his agent were not interested in a contract extension with the Warriors.

“Kuminga and his agent, Aaron Turner, were far apart on extension talks with the Warriors before the season. Kuminga was seeking as close to a maximum contract as possible, while the Warriors were hoping for something closer to $30 million annually, league sources told HoopsHype.” Scotto wrote in his recent reports.

The Warriors will play against the Minnesota Timberwolves in their next game at the Chase Center. Fans are eager to observe how head coach Steve Kerr will strategize following recent comments made by Stephen Curry concerning the team’s rotation.
