The Carolina Panthers cannot catch a break even when their team isn’t actively playing a game.

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump had their first presidential debate on Tuesday night at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, and there was one moment from the former President that had fans talking.

In the debate, Trump referred to rumors that have spread on social media for days, claiming that Haitian immigrants in Ohio are abducting and eating pets.

“They’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats,” Trump said, via NBC News. “They’re eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame.”

Once those comments were made, they quickly went viral, and the Carolina Panthers would soon be brought up.

After Trump made these remarks on national television, a social media user posted a photo of the box score from last weekend’s Panthers-Saints game with the caption, “They’re destroying our cats.”
