VIDEO: Baltimore Ravens TE Isaiah Likely Throws Massive Shade At The Chiefs With A Risky Comment That Will Definitely Come Back To Bite Him In The Butt
Isaiah Likely is already looking ahead to a potential playoff rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs, and he may have put his foot in his mouth.
The finish to Thursday night’s NFL opener reminded everybody that the game is truly “a game of inches,” as demonstrated by the final play of the Kansas City Chiefs’ 27-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Needing a touchdown and an extra point to tie the game, or even going for two to win, Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson led his team down the field on an 11-play, 77-yard drive, but a final pass that was initially called a TD resulted in it being overturned after it was ruled that Isaiah Likely’s toe landed out of bounds after he caught the ball in the back of the end zone.
After the game, Likely was already looking ahead to a potential playoff rematch with the Kansas City Chiefs as he threw shade at the defending champs.
“I’d say this is probably the worst game we’re going to play all year, so if this is the best that they’ve got, good luck in the postseason,” he said.
Isaiah Likely finished with nine catches for 111 yards and one touchdown, per his stats on ESPN.
Patrick Mahomes Had Advice for Isaiah Likely After Overturned Touchdown
The Kansas City Chiefs opened up the 2024 season with a 27-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night, but it wasn’t easy.
The Ravens came close to tying the game as tight end Isaiah Likely hauled in what appeared to be a last-second touchdown.
However, he failed to get his right foot in the end zone by inches.
Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes offered some fashion advice to Isaiah Likely.
“Definitely nerve-wracking,” Mahomes said. “It looked good from my angle from the sideline, but then the first view you saw, you could see the cleat. That’s a great football team, and I’m sure we’ll see them again at some point in the playoffs. So we’re happy with the win now.”
“Just gotta wear white cleats next time. That’s my advice for him.”
