Which NBA Players Have Been Officially Removed From NBA 2K25?
The latest installment in the popular NBA 2K series, NBA 2K25, will be released globally on Friday, September 6. While the Early Tip-Off access to play the game was provided on Wednesday, removing All-Stars, NBA champions, and other notable stars from its roster has caught the fans off guard.
Over a dozen players have been excluded from the 2K25, and Andre Iguodala, Serge Ibaka, and Blake Griffin are the significant omissions. Despite adding the Steph Curry era to the Golden State Warriors dynasty, four-time NBA champion with the Warriors Iguodala is not part of the game.
Serge Ibaka was on the NBA championship-winning 2018-19 Toronto Raptors roster, yet he failed to advance to 2K25. Blake Griffin is a critical removal among the NBA stars who never won a championship. The Lob City’s power forward’s explosive dunks would be a huge loss to the game.
Other notable subtractions from the game include All-Stars like John Wall and Goran Dragic. Injuries plagued the five-time NBA All-Star and 2014 Slam Dunt champion’s career, while the 2018 NBA All-Star, Goran Dragic, hung up his boots last month. Meyers Leonard, Nerlens Noel, Will Barton, Dewayne Dedmon, Frank Kaminsky, and JaMychal Green are among other eliminations.
Who Is The Cover For NBA 2K25
2K Sports revealed that NBA 2K25 will have a “Hall of Fame Edition,” “All-Star Edition,” “WNBA Edition,” and “Standard Edition.” 2024 NBA champion Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics and 2024 WNBA champion A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces feature on the cover of the “Standard Edition” and the “All-Star Edition.”
Tatum and Wilson were the members of the Olympic gold-winning Team USA men’s and women’s teams, respectively. The Hall of Fame Edition features Toronto Raptors legend Vince Carter, who has played a record 22 seasons in the NBA. However, the 2000 Slam Dunt Contest champion will share this record with LeBron James, who will enter his 22nd season on October 22 against Anthony Edwards’ Minnesota Timberwolves.
