Jayson Tatum, the star player of the Boston Celtics, recently completed his seventh season in the NBA. Since being drafted by the Celtics in 2017, the five-time NBA all-star has showcased fantastic talent on the court. During the 2023-24 NBA season, Tatum gave his best effort for the team by delivering back-to-back dominating performances that led the team to clinch a historic championship by beating the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA finals. He was rewarded with a record-breaking contract extension with the Celtics.

In July, Tatum, who was recently criticized by Carmelo Anthony, secured the most lucrative NBA contract of his career, worth up to $314 million. This exceeded the $304 million deal signed by his teammate, Jaylen Brown. This contract now stands as the richest deal in NBA history. However, despite making the remarkable deal, Tatum made a shocking claim about managing his finances. During a recent interview with Clutchpoint, the 2024 NBA champion explained his commitment to saving all his NBA money.

“I really started taking it seriously in my second or third year. My mom and I had made a commitment to each other that I was going to save all my NBA money and live off my endorsements. Because you have the rest of your life to live and your family to take care of and kids and whatnot, pretty early on.” Tatum said in an interview with Clutch Points.
