Anti-Israel protesters attempt to down, burn American flags outside DC train station, hoist Palestinian flag after Netanyahu speech
Anti-Israel protesters attempted to tear down American flags flying outside of Union Station in Washington DC, but were kept at bay by heroic police who managed to remove the flag to safety.
But the protesters managed to hoist Palestinian flags up the poles once police retreated with the Stars and Stripes — then tossed American flags onto the ground and set them ablaze.
The angry throngs have descended on the railroad station, just blocks from the US Capitol building where Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the war in Gaza with a fiery address to Congress Wednesday.

Anti-Israel demonstrators burn a U.S. flag and an effigy depicting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on the day of Netanyahu’s address to a joint meeting of Congress, on Capitol Hill in Washington.
Protesters screamed the usual chants of “Free Palestine,” and vandalized monuments outside with scrawls of “Free Gaza,” while climbing them and waving Palestinian flags.
A scowling effigy of Netanyahu was also burned outside the station, while protesters jeered at law enforcement standing by.
