KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes added to his already large trophy case Wednesday.

Mahomes — a three-time Super Bowl winner and Super Bowl MVP — won his fourth ESPY on Wednesday. During a Wednesday episode of NFL Live on ESPN, Mahomes was given his third Best NFL Player ESPY, an award he also won last year and in 2019.

The 28-year-old football superstar beat San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett for the award.

It comes after Mahomes led the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl title in the past five years during the 2023 NFL season. That Super Bowl run included wins on the road over the AFC’s No. 1 and No. 2 seeds and a win over the NFC’s No. 1 seed 49ers in the Super Bowl.

Mahomes is also a nominee for Best Male Athlete, an award he won last year and was nominated for in 2019. In total, he has won four ESPYs and been a part of the Chiefs’ Best Team award following their Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The ESPYs will be held in Los Angeles Thursday, July 11. The Chiefs are nominated for the Best Team category. They won that award following their Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2023 ESPYs.
