Jason Kelce reacts to wife Kylie being called a ‘homemaker’ after Harrison Butker’s controversial speech

Jason Kelce had some choice words for a troll who called his wife, Kylie Kelce, a “homemaker.”

After voicing his disagreement with Harisson Butker’s controversial commencement speech, the former NFL player became the target of a troll on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Monday.

“Your wife is a homemaker,” the critic wrote. “But you can’t support butker. And your wife is a homemaker whose home is a mess. Sorry but it is dirty and messy on television.”

Jason Kelce had no time for a troll who called his wife a “homemaker.”

The X user claimed that she kept their family home “dirty.”

Jason clapped back and said that he didn’t think of his wife as just a “homemaker.”

The netizen then accused Jason of being a “bit hypocritical,” warning he would “be left with nothing but swifties,” referencing his brother Travis Kelce’s relationship with Taylor Swift.

“You just ruined your gig. It’s a shame,” they concluded.

The former Philadelphia Eagles player — who has three daughters, Wyatt, 4, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 14 months, with Kylie — explained that he doesn’t view his wife as “a homemaker.”

He said in part, ” She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can.”

The couple shares three young children.

“I think of her as my wife,” the 36-year-old wrote. “I think of her as a mother. She has an occupation, as do I, and we keep our house the best we can. Our marriage is a partnership, we are equals who are figuring it out on the daily. The only expectation is that we love each other, support one another, and are committed to our family, that comes first.”

Jason went on to add that the couple both raise their kids and tidy up the house.

“It is both our faults it is messy, but such is life with 3 young children, busy schedules, and neither of us being neat freaks. She also makes a mean sandwich,” he joked.

Kelce’s response comes in light of Harrison Butker’s controversial commencement speech.

Butker’s speech was criticized for its sexism and homophobia.

“If being a homemaker, works for some, and that’s what they want, then hell yea, that’s awesome, more power to you,” the retired athlete concluded. “I want to be clear, I’m not downplaying that at all, but that is not our family dynamic.”

Jason and Kylie, 31, were among some who criticized Butker for his speech at Benedictine College’s graduation ceremony in which he told the female graduates that they had been fed “diabolical lies” about how they should live their lives.

“Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,” he said.

Kelce stressed he wasn’t criticizing those who wanted to be labeled “homemakers.”

The retired NFL player added that wasn’t his “family dynamic.”

“I can tell you that my beautiful wife, Isabelle, would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother.”

The Kansas City Chiefs kicker also took time out in his speech to rail against Pride Month, abortion and IVF.

Butker later defended his speech claiming at a fundraiser, that the backlash revealed how “timeless Catholic values are hated by many.”
