The Buffalo Bills had their season come to an end last Sunday night when they fell once again to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Much like the other contests, this one also ended with a ton of controversy.

Buffalo’s final offensive play was a failed attempt to convert a 4th-and-5 with just under two minutes left in the game. That play has received a ton of attention.

With Buffalo holding a 22-21 lead in the fourth quarter, the Bills went for it on fourth-and-1 at the Kansas City 41-yard line.

They called a quarterback sneak for Josh Allen, and it appeared he got just enough to secure a new set of downs.

Sideline angles appeared to show that the ball just reached the 40-yard line, but a clear view of the ball was blocked on both angles.

Now, it appears something else was going on.

Slowed-down footage shows Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Drue Tranquill running up to a ref and whispering something to him before the controversial call is made.

There were likely multiple microphones on that field, but we are unlikely to ever hear what was said.

“look at the Chiefs #23 Drue Tranquill come in and whisper in his best friend’s ear, the same ref on the near side who spotted the ball short — would love to hear that little conversation! (spoiler, we won’t),” one person wrote while providing the footage.
