REPORT: Former Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers Turned Down Massive NIL Offer Worth Millions Of Dollars To Transfer To Another Program
Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers will not be playing another year of college football.
Ewers, the talented quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, decided he would enter his name into the NFL Draft.
It was previously reported that the former Ohio State transfer received an offer of $6 million to enter the transfer portal rather than going to the NFL.
It turns out the number was a bit low.
Chip Brown of 247 Sports reports that Quinn Ewers turned down an $8 million NIL offer to transfer to an unknown program for the 2025 season.
Two NFL scouts told 247 Sports that they expect Ewers to be selected anywhere from late in the first round to early in the third round of April’s draft.
First-round selections are projected to sign four-year deals totaling $42.2 million at the top and $13.2 million at the bottom. Second-round picks are projected to sign four-year deals ranging from $10.7 million to $6.8 million.
When it comes to the third round, picks are projected to sign four-year deals totaling $6.4 million.
Quinn Ewers could possibly lose out on millions should he fall that far.
Two College Programs Were Expected To Come After Quinn Ewers
Texas Longhorns star quarterback Quinn Ewers declared for the NFL Draft this week. He posted a video on his social media pages thanking Longhorns coaches and teammates for helping him succeed.
Ewers made his decision as rumors swirled about whether he would enter the transfer portal and play elsewhere.
Ewers had one more year of college eligibility remaining.
Two teams were considered his most notable destinations: the Oregon Ducks and the North Carolina Tar Heels.
Ewers, a highly touted 5-star recruit, initially committed to Ohio State before transferring to Texas.
Despite showing flashes of brilliance during his time with the Longhorns, he struggled with inconsistency, but he seems to think he is ready for the next level.
