Boise State running back had a classy message for Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter after the latter narrowly emerged victorious in the Heisman Trophy voting.

Per Ralph D. Russo of The Athletic, Hunter won the Heisman with 552 first-place votes and 2,231 total points. Ashton Jeanty gave Hunter a run for his money, though, with 309 first-place votes and 2,017 total points.

Speaking to Jay Tust of KTVB Sports after the results were revealed, Jeanty had a classy message for the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner:
“Obviously, it wasn’t the result that I was hoping for. But I kind of just had to take a moment, debrief and just appreciate the fact that I was even here. The fact that I was here is going to be so inspiring to many. It’s very hard to reach this status to be a finalist as it is from any school, but from a Group of Five school, it makes it that much more challenging. I’m proud of being here today.”
