The New York Yankees have missed out on their star slugger, Juan Soto. Or, as some people believe, did they really dodge a bullet? Soto’s singing with the Mets received mixed reactions. Several people believe the Yankees were lucky not to waste $760 million on one player. Yet, many were upset that Soto chose the Mets for a slightly higher contract.

Soto is in the past, and the Yankees need to move on and prove they can get to the World Series without Soto. It’s time for the Bronx Bombers to use that Soto money and start signing key players to shape their future.

3. Christian Walker

The Yanks have not shown any interest in Anthony Rizzo and have not expressed interest in pursuing Gleyber Torres either. They have a great chance to pursue Christian Walker. Adding Walker to the lineup will bolster their offense. Walker will also be a strong replacement for Rizzo.

2. Alex Bregman

Despite being their American League rival, Alex Bregman will be a strong addition to the team. The Yanks can use Bregman at third base and move Jazz Chisholm Jr. to second base. It’s possible for the Yanks to pursue Bregman to get some extra firepower at the plate.

1. Corbin Burnes

The Yankees’ pitching staff was not up to par last season. Nestor Cortes Jr. was subpar, and Marcus Stroman was inconsistent. The Yanks managed to retain their ace, Gerrit Cole, and they have Luis Gil, who has been exceptional. Carlos Rodon was not too bad, but they need another classy pitcher.

Corbin Burnes will fit the bill, and the Yanks could turn out to have one of the best starting rotations. The Yanks were also linked to Walker Buehler, but Burnes is a better option for the team. Rumors are that the Yanks could sign Burnes to a seven-year $217 million deal.

The Yankees can make good use of the money they had on Soto. Signing Soto would have been great, but they might not have had the means to opt for other players, which they need.
