VIDEO: Tom Brady Threw Massive Shade At Peyton Manning On Live TV During Cowboys-Lions Game
Tom Brady and Peyton Manning might be retired, but their rivalry never truly ends.
Brady’s rivalry with Peyton Manning on the football field has extended to his broadcasting duties with Fox Sports.
During Brady’s latest broadcast of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions game, he took a shot at Manning.
Multiple offensive pass interference calls were made on the Lions during the game.
After one of them in the fourth quarter of the blowout, Tom Brady made a point to bring up Manning.
“Well it’s such a good thought, it’s just not the best execution,” Brady said. “And over the years, they’ve gotten really tight on calling those pick plays. Any remote contact was a flag. I saw Peyton Manning when he threw 55 touchdowns, there were more pick plays in that offense than in the history of NFL football. Since then, they’ve been cracking down. Believe me, I tried to use them all the time too.”
Peyton Manning holds the record for touchdown passes in a season, with 55 passing touchdowns in the 2013 season while playing for the Denver Broncos.
Only two other players have recorded 50 or more passing touchdowns in a season, including Tom Brady.
In 2013, Tom Brady has tossed 25 touchdowns.
In the end, the Baltimore Ravens would win the Super Bowl that season.
Tom Brady Gets Mixed Reviews from NFL Fans
As the Lions dominated the Cowboys in a 47-9 blowout at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, Brady joined Kevin Burkhardt in the booth to call the game.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion appears to be getting even more comfortable every week.
Things were shaky in Week One when he called the game between the Cowboys and the Cleveland Browns, but he seems to have found his footing following Week 6.
