The NFL is enjoyed all across America, from the smallest communities in the Midwest to the largest cities like Los Angeles and New York. That’s why it comes as no surprise that the talent that makes up the league comes from all around the U.S.

Dov Kleiman recently went to X with a post showcasing the best current NFL player from every state, and it’s already started several debates.

The most controversy comes within the three hotbeds that produce the most NFL talent: Texas, California and Florida in that order per actionnetwork

California is the birthplace for superstars like LB Bobby Wagner, QB Aaron Rodgers and WR Davante Adams, yet Josh Allen is the one chosen for the list.

“How did Josh Allen get picked over Davante Adams or Aaron Rodgers,” wrote one user in the comments.

The list has also gone on to highlight that many states just don’t produce a lot of high-end talent.

Vermont for example is the only state that does not have a single active NFL player.

“This list can’t be serious Brandon Aubrey??,” wrote another user, referring to the pick for Missouri

Another player chosen that turned a few heads was Antoine Winfield Jr. for the state of Ohio, despite TE Travis Kelce and CB Denzel Ward both being from the same state.

Which States Have Produced The Least Amount Of NFL Players?

The list above, however, does shadow where a lot of the big-name players are produced. It’s not as though Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson are the only superstars to come out of Texas and Florida.

In fact, Texas is the birthplace of 2,645 total players and 37 Hall-of-Famers which is the most ever for both categories.

Then on the other hand Vermont has only ever had 10 players, while countries like Nigeria (34) and England (33) have produced more.
