UFC 307 is already gaining momentum and criticism at the same time. After the announcement of the Jose Aldo vs. Mario Bautista match in the upcoming PPV event, fans started to question UFC CEO Dana White and the matchmakers. Aldo, who was last seen at UFC 301, will be returning to face Bautista, who has a six-win streak.

After a popular MMA page on X called Spinnin Backfist shared the update, fans rallied in the comment section to express their disappointment. One of the fans wrote, “The level of disrespect”

Aldo has been associated with UFC for several years now. Fans expect to see the bantamweight fighting facing big opponents. But that hasn’t been the case lately. A fan pointed out this fact and commented, “Tf is the point of having Aldo if you’re not gonna have him against bigger names”

Another fan wished to see Aldo getting booked in legacy fights. He suggested that matchmakers should have brought in Dominick Cruz to fight the 37-year-old.

While Aldo is now 37 years old, he seems to be nearing the end of his career. Fans feel that the fighter needed high-profile fights before he wraps up his MMA career. One of the fans pointed out that the fighter recently defeated #14 bantamweight fighters and will now face #12 bantamweight fighters. He expressed his will to see Aldo fighting Petr Yan, whom he lost at UFC 251.

Having fought and beaten Jonathan Martinez at UFC 301 certainly gave a boost to Aldo’s career. Especially after the 37-year-old returned to UFC octagon after two years of hiatus. However, a fan felt that bringing back Aldo in another fight card was just a “waste of everybody’s time, even if he keeps winning.”

UFC 307 is slated for October 5, 2024, at Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States. Moreover, Aldo vs. Bautista isn’t the only announced bout in the fight card.

Exploring All Other Announced Bout At UFC 307 Fight Card

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will visit Utah for the fourth time on October 5. This is the first time since UFC 291 in July 2023 when Dana White’s promotion will travel to the city.

While Aldo vs. Bautista is a major attraction in the upcoming PPV event, a few more bouts have been announced for UFC 307. So, here’s a look at UFC 307’s announced fights:

  • Raquel Pennington (c) vs. Julianna Pena: Women’s Bantamweight
  • Movsar Evloev vs. Aljamain Sterling: Featherweight
  • Marina Rodriguez vs. Iasmin Lucindo: Women’s Strawweight
  • Cesar Almeida vs. Ihor Potieria: Middleweight
  • Chris Curtis vs. Kevin Holland: Middleweight
  • Jose Aldo vs. Mario Bautista: Bantamweight

Although Dana White and his promotion have not yet announced the main event and co-main event bouts, it will be interesting to see which fighters can headline the event. However, since the event is months away, it would be wise to wait for further announcements.
