Pregnant Lea Michele reveals she suffered multiple miscarriages in struggles to conceive baby No. 2
Pregnant Lea Michele suffered multiple miscarriages before conceiving her and Zandy Reich’s rainbow baby.
When the “Glee” alum and her husband “start[ed] trying” to have their second child, the process was “completely not what [they] expected,” she revealed.
Michele, 37, told “BDA Baby” podcast listeners on Thursday that she “had two back-to-back very early failed pregnancies” that left her “shocked.”

The actress explained to host Katherine Schwarzenegger, “I had never had a miscarriage before. … The first one, I was like, ‘That was weird.’ When it happened again right away, I was like, ‘Wait a second. Something is wrong.’”
Michele subsequently began starring in “Funny Girl” and decided to “step away” from her struggles to conceive, deciding it wasn’t “the right time.”
She recalled, “It wasn’t until a little bit later [that] I had another [loss]. I was working at the time. It was super challenging to … process what we were experiencing at the same time, which was very painful.”
The Broadway star decided to “dive deeper into what [was] happening” – and received an endometriosis diagnosis.
After undergoing surgery and being “put on so many drugs and medications and [getting] one thousand shots,” Michele got pregnant.
She gushed about how “grateful” she felt after the “really intense” experience but admitted that “all the fears” still weighed “heavy” on her after successfully conceiving.
Eventually, however, the singer decided to intentionally “celebrate” her upcoming arrival.
Michele and Reich are already the parents of son Ever, 3, who was born in August 2020.
The duo also had a hard time getting pregnant with their baby boy, with the Emmy nominee later attributing the struggles to her polycystic ovary syndrome.
