Ingrid Andress was a well-known country music star, but the majority of Americans still did not know who she was.

She changed that narrative with one terrible attempt at singing the National Anthem.

After a horrific performance singing the “Star-Spangled Banner” at last Monday’s Home Run Derby, fans and new fans began checking out her music to see how she was able to even land the job of singing the Anthem.

Music streaming service SoundCloud told TMZ that the number of plays on her music has increased by around 50 percent.

The old saying “there’s no such thing as bad publicity” is certainly working for music right now.

Making headlines for all the wrong reasons helped her career and possibly created new fans, and all it took was for her to butcher the classic song.

Following her terrible Anthem performance, Ingrid Andress had around 335,000 Instagram followers, but as of Friday, she had 348,000.

After a terrible rendition of the U.S. national anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby, country singer Ingrid Andress apologized for the actions that led to her performance.

On Tuesday, she took to social media and stated she was drunk and headed to rehab.

“I’m checking myself into a facility today to get the help I need,” she posted on social media. “That was not me last night. I apologize to MLB, all the fans, and this country I love so much for that rendition.”
