Khyree Jackson — the Minnesota Vikings cornerback — was killed Saturday along with two other people in a vehicular accident in Maryland, according to authorities.Maryland State Police tell TMZ … Jackson, Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton were driving in a maroon Dodge Charger in Upper Marlboro early this morning when they collided with two other automobiles.
During their preliminary probe, investigators learned that one of the other motorists in a silver Infiniti rammed into the Charger while trying to change lanes at a high rate of speed. That sent the Charger crashing into a moving Chevy Impala before barreling off the roadway into a bunch of trees where the car finally came to a stop.
Paramedics were called and pronounced Jackson and Hazel dead at the scene. Lytton was rushed to a local hospital, where he passed away. No one else was injured.
MSP officials said the investigation is ongoing. So far, it appears police have not issued any summonses or made any arrests. Stay tuned, though.
Khyree’s mother Ebbony Jackson originally confirmed Khyree’s death, telling TMZ … Khyree died in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. She received a call about his death at 4 AM ET today.
Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah released a statement on Khyree’s passing, saying in part, “I am heartbroken by the loss of Khyree … My thoughts are with Khyree’s family and friends …”Khyree was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fourth round of 2024 NFL Draft back in April, 108th overall.
Jackson started his college career with the University of Alabama before transferring to the University of Oregon for his final season. In his final year, he racked up 34 tackles, two sacks and made three interceptions.
Jackson was born in Upper Marlboro, MD. and attended Dr. Henry Wise High School
He was only 24.RIP.
