22-Year-Old College Basketball Star Dies In Tragic Drowning Incident

A college basketball player is dead after a tragic incident in Florida over the weekend. According to Tulane officials, senior forward Gregg Glenn III drowned off Pompano Beach while swimming with a friend on Sunday.
Details of the incident are still scarce.
Glenn was 22.
“He was a talented student-athlete who enriched our lives with his spirit, dedication and passion for both sports and academics,” Tulane vice president of student affairs Sarah Cunningham wrote (H/T Nola Sports).
Cunningham added that, “Gregg was an outstanding athlete on our men’s basketball team and an individual who brought joy and light to those around him.“
“His commitment to excellence inspired many of us. … Let us remember Gregg not just for his achievements in sports, but for the kindness and warmth he shared with everyone. He will forever remain a part of our university family.”
Gregg Glenn III Was Expected To Be A Big Part Of College Basketball Affairs For Tulane Next Season

Glenn started all 34 games for the Green Wave last season. He registered double-figure hauls in 21 appearances, averaging 10.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. He was expected to be a key player for the program next season.
Head coach Ron Hunter described Glenn as an “Exceptional athlete” and a great person, “who brought energy, dedication and kindness to our team and community.”
“Gregg’s spirit and passion will be deeply missed, and our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time,” he said. “We will honor his memory by continuing to celebrate the impact he had on all of us. Rest in peace, Gregg.”
Gregg had transferred to Tulane after initially playing for Michigan, where he suited up in four games as a freshman. He averaged 3.6 points a game, playing 9.7 minutes per contest, but took on a bigger role within the setup last season and ranked second only to point guard Rowan Brumbaugh on the team with 106 assists.
The 22-year-old was majoring in health and wellness.
We extend condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during their period of mourning.
May he rest in peace.
