Anne Burrell was surrounded by dozens of pills when husband found her unconscious: sources
“Food Network” star Anne Burrell was found unconscious next to dozens of pills by her husband, Stuart Claxton, when she died at her New York home Tuesday.
On Thursday, sources confirmed to The Post that Claxton discovered the celebrity chef’s body on the shower floor.
It’s unclear if the pills found beside Burrell were consumed, and the type is unknown.
Law enforcement officers arrived at Burrell’s Brooklyn home at 7:50 a.m. after she was found unconscious on Tuesday.
Officers pronounced her dead at the scene.
After finding Burrell’s body, Claxton called 911 and was instructed to perform CPR, sources told TMZ.
The outlet noted that the “Worst Cooks in America” host’s body was allegedly already cold.
Claxton, who wed Burrell in 2021, allegedly last saw his wife alive at around 1 a.m. early Tuesday.
A New York City Fire Department spokesperson told Page Six that a 911 caller claimed she had gone into “cardiac arrest.”
An investigation surrounding Burrell’s death, including her cause of death, is ongoing.
The “Secrets of a Restaurant Chef” alum spent her last night alive at The Second City New York improv show in Brooklyn on Monday.
“Anne brought joy, boldness, and an unwavering ‘yes, and’ spirit. Her enthusiasm was contagious, her presence unforgettable. Our thoughts go out to Anne’s family and loved ones,” a spokesperson for the event center told Page Six.
