The game was stopped as medics rushed to the scene to take him off with a stretcher. The fan fell from the 21-foot-high stands and lay unconscious on the ground. Although he was rushed to the hospital, it was a traumatizing moment for all those who witnessed it. Some fans thought that he jumped off on purpose. However, a recent report reveals new alarming details.

It turns out that the fan was drunk, and he jumped up when the Pirates recorded a hit. Another fan said that he literally propelled himself off the ledge.

“I was sitting five rows behind him. He was drunk. The inning before, he ripped his shirt off and poured half a beer all over himself. Jumped up from his seat when the Pirates got the hit, and he jumped up so quickly. While being drunk, he literally propelled himself off the ledge.”

The post that was shared by Joe Frick stated that he didn’t do it on purpose. The fan was with his girlfriend during the incident.

“I’m thinking about his family and him right now. Obviously scary. I didn’t see it happen, but I saw it out there after the play. I just hope everything turns out OK,” Cubs manager Craig Counsell said via the BBC.
