BREAKING: Dave Portnoy Announces Boxing Match Between John Rocker & Pat Mahomes Sr. Is Officially Scheduled After Their Super Bowl Week Confrontation In New Orleans
Former MLB pitchers John Rocker and Pat Mahomes Sr., the father of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, are reportedly set to settle their differences (whatever those may be) in the ring.
On Tuesday, a viral video showed John Rocker and Pat Mahomes Sr. nearly getting into a full-on fistfight during Super Bowl week in New Orleans, Louisiana. The two exchanged words and looked ready to throw down, but multiple folks stepped in to diffuse the situation before it turned physical.

Well, Mahomes Sr. and Rocker are indeed going to throw down after their tense confrontation on Bourbon Street. On Wednesday, Barstool Sports president Dave Portnoy announced that the two will face off in a boxing match at the “Rough N Rowdy” event on Apr. 18 in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Portnoy stated in an X/Twitter video that the two signed the paperwork to make the boxing match official:
The 54-year-old Mahomes Sr. was an MLB pitcher from 1992 to 2003, including a five-year stint with the Minnesota Twins to begin his career. Patrick Mahomes was born during his father’s tenure with the Twins.
John Rocker began his playing career with Atlanta in 1998. He spent four seasons there before making brief stops in Cleveland, Texas and Tampa Bay.
Pat Mahomes Sr. Gets A Chance To Shut John Rocker Up
It was a rough weekend for Pat Mahomes Sr., his son and the rest of the family. The Chiefs’ three-peat bid ended with a crushing and humiliating 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.
But at least Mahomes Sr. gets the chance to take out some of that frustration on the controversial former MLB pitcher. As Portnoy pointed out, Rocker wasn’t the most likable teammate during his playing days.
