Her involvement just adds insult to injury as Drake used to date the 43-year-old.
Speaking during the 2024 ESPY Awards, which Williams hosted, she said of Kendrick after dancing to ‘Not Like Us’: “If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar.
“He will make your hometown not like you, the next time Drake sits courtside at a Raptors game, they’re gonna Forest Gump him, seats taken.”
Taking to Threads, one user posted: “The fact the Serena Williams used to date Drake and Kendrick got her up there crip walking, I will never recovererrr. Super Bowl Halftime Show.”
While someone replied: “Ngl I saw her, loved her, had no idea what she was doing there until I heard her and Drake used to date. Loved the pettiness.”
The reaction come as Kendrick used his platform to take a dig at Drake during the Super Bowl, which has seen the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face off – renewing the rivalry from the 2023 epic bout which saw the Chiefs triumph.
their rivals in an epic bout.
Drake is currently suing UMG – the umbrella company of both Kendrick’s and his record labels – over Kendrick’s song ‘Not Like Us’, claiming it is defamatory.
The two music stars have long been beefing it out, but their feud came to a head last year when both Drake and Kendrick dropped diss tracks about one another.
Kendrick released ‘Not Like Us’ on May 4 after Drake dropped his song ‘Push Ups’ a few weeks prior.

But Kendrick’s track ended up being the winner in terms of streaming numbers and has amassed over a billion Spotify streams, while ‘Push Ups’ has around 170 million.
The lyrics for ‘Not Like Us’ reads: “Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young/ You better not ever go to cell block one/To any b**** that talk to him and they in love/Just make sure you hide your lil’ sister from him/They tell me Chubbs the only one that get your hand-me-downs.”
“And Party at the party playin’ with his nose now/And Baka got a weird case, why is he around?/Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles/Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, Dot, f*** ’em up/Wop, wop, wop, wop, wop, I’ma do my stuff.
“Why you trollin’ like a b****? Ain’t you tired?/Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor.”
While rapping during the halftime show, Kendrick notably left out the words ‘A minor’.
