Gerber recalls all batches of Soothe N Chew Teething Sticks nationwide
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Gerber Products Company has announced a nationwide recall and discontinuation of all batches of its Soothe N Chew Teething Sticks due to a potential choking hazard for infants and young children.
The recall follows consumer complaints, including one reported emergency room visit related to choking incidents, according to a release from the Food and Drug Administration.
The affected products were sold online and in retail stores across 47 states and Puerto Rico.
The recall includes all lot codes of the following:
- Soothe N Chew® Teething Sticks – Strawberry Apple (3.2 oz) – UPC: 0 15000 04618 7
- Soothe N Chew® Teething Sticks – Banana (3.2 oz) – UPC: 0 15000 04608 8
- Soothe N Chew® Teething Sticks – Banana (1.59 oz) – UPC: 0 15000 01015 7
Consumers are advised not to feed the recalled products to their child and can return them to the retailer for a refund, according to the release.
Gerber is working with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) on the recall and said they have plans to “cooperate with [the FDA] fully.”
