VIDEO: Philadelphia Mayor Is Getting Ripped For Her Terrible Attempt To Spell “Eagles” While Performing Team’s Hype Chant
The Philadelphia Eagles are getting set to face the Washington Commanders for the third time this year in the NFC Championship game.
During a news conference about wintry weather preparations in the hours before the Eagles’ game in the divisional round, Mayor Cherelle Parker decided she wanted to get some team spirit going.
“Listen, we gotta do this,” the mayor said while standing outside with city officials.
“Let me hear you all sing,” Parker says as she leads the crowd with a chant of the Philadelphia Eagles nickname.
Unfortunately, she screamed, “E-L-G-S-E-S, Eagles!”
That is not how you spell that, and she did not even notice it during the moment.
The Eagles have way more to think about than a chant of their name being spelled wrong.
Everyone is worried about the status of Jalen Hurts.
Hurts appeared to injure his left knee during the win over the Rams, and he was not the same QB for the remainder of the contest.
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback has said he’ll play, but head coach Nick Sirianni has yet to offer any updates.
The team relied heavily on Saquon Barkley in the last game, and they might have to do the same since Hurts will clearly not be 100% for the upcoming contest.
Mayor Parker Addresses Botching The Philadelphia Eagles Chant
Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker has been catching major heat for his embarrassing fumble of spelling “Eagles” after she started the popular chant at a press conference.
Parker began the chant and encouraged others to join in as she spelled out “E-L-G-S-E-S! Eagles!”
On Tuesday, she poked fun at herself by saying, “We don’t promise perfection. I’m so happy I never have,” Parker said, ” especially after I couldn’t spell Eagles right,” per Fox 29.
