Michael Strahan’s Daughter Isabella Stuns With Her Voluminous Curly Hair After Beating Cancer — Photos
One of the TV anchor’s twin daughters shared new photos from abroad, and netizens were stunned by how much she’s changed since battling serious illness.
Isabella Strahan, the 21-year-old daughter of “Good Morning America” co-anchor Michael Strahan, is stepping into the spotlight again — not from a hospital bed, but from the sunlit streets of Spain.

Nearly a year after finishing treatment for a brain tumor, she’s reclaiming her life with quiet confidence and unmistakable style. From shaved head to soft curls, and from private recovery to public reemergence, her story isn’t just a comeback, it’s a transformation still unfolding.

In one of her Instagram photos, Isabella wears a rich, oversized coat with faux-fur trim layered over a cozy cream turtleneck. Her natural curls, styled into soft, defined ringlets, frame her face and catch the golden afternoon light.
She pairs the outfit with gold hoops, jeans, and dark sunglasses — an easy, polished statement. “& @sophialstrahan take on Madrid,” Isabelle wrote on her post. But what truly captured fans wasn’t just her style — it was her presence.

“Dude keep ur hair like this forever ur an icon [sic],” one follower raved. “I absolutely love your short hair!” added another. A third gushed, “Omg the hair slicks back!!”
A separate follower gushed, “Oh my gosh!!! GORGEOUS!! 😍🥰🤗,” while another wrote, “Happy for your good health. Be well sweet girl!” Someone else typed, “Isabella you are thriving! You are Beautiful! God Bless You Always [sic]! ❤️🙏”

Isabella’s latest post marks a quiet return to public life, as she gradually shares more glimpses of her world post-treatment. In October 2023, she was diagnosed with a brain tumor — a journey that has reshaped not only her health, but also her sense of self.
In an exclusive People interview on October 30, Isabella reflected on how cancer changed her relationship with beauty and deepened her connection to her natural hair.

Now the first ambassador for F.A.S.T. Haircare’s new hair growth line, the model and college student said she once saw her curls as a core part of her identity.
“It was strawberry, red auburn and people would always comment on the color, the length, the texture,” she said. “So when I didn’t have it, I was like, ‘Oh no. I’m never gonna be pretty again.'”
After chemotherapy, her hair began to grow back, but it didn’t look the same. It first came in pin-straight and black, then gradually became curlier and lighter. The change introduced her to a common post-treatment shift known as “chemo curls.”

Now adjusting to a short, curly afro, Isabella said the experience has been both rewarding and challenging. While she sometimes struggles with styling and misses the ease of tying her hair back, she is learning to appreciate this new phase.

As her curls return, so does her confidence. She is realizing that how she feels — not how her hair looks — is what defines her beauty. “I really value my hair now because I do think I took it for granted before,” she said. “I just want to protect this hair really well.”

She now takes extra care of her curly locks, using nourishing products that support moisture and strength. After losing it once, she described the experience as “traumatic,” and she is determined to protect her hair as it grows back.
That commitment to caring for her hair comes after months of treatment that left her bald , a reality Isabella documented openly with her audience. In a vlog posted on June 15, 2024, she captured the emotional milestone of completing her final round of chemotherapy.

Wearing striped pink and white pajamas, Isabella lay quietly in her hospital bed, hooked to a machine — tired, pale, but still hopeful. “This is a long journey, but made it,” she said softly, reflecting on her final round of chemo, which had mostly been spent in bed, resting.

Later in the video, the tone shifted — and so did Isabella. Now dressed in all black, she walked through a hospital hallway transformed with joy. Confetti floated through the air, music played, and handmade signs lined the walls.
Nurses, family, and friends clapped and cheered as she moved closer to the bell — the symbol every cancer patient dreams of reaching.

“We’re going to go ring the bell now,” Isabella told the camera, eyes bright with emotion. “My confetti parade is really fun, and I love all my nurses… It’s a great day.”

Weeks later, Isabella returned with a powerful update — this time filming from inside a car, wearing a white tank top and sporting red nails. Then came the words she had been hoping to hear.
“It was a great, great scan. Everything was clear, cancer-free, and everything is great,” she said in her follow-up vlog, visibly moved. She also gave an “Okay” sign along with her news.

But aside from the joy came an unexpected ache — the heartbreak of saying goodbye to the team that had carried her through it all. The familiar faces she had come to depend on. She admitted:
“I miss my doctors already and everyone who’s helped me because they’re all so nice. Like I feel like I’m just saddened today knowing that I wasn’t going to be going back for a while, cuz I love them so much.”
Looking ahead, Isabella shared that she plans to continue documenting her journey, including her return to college and other next steps in her recovery. She ended the vlog on a hopeful note, wrapping up the update with a sense of closure and optimism for what’s to come.
