Explosive Development Emerges in Antonio Brown’s Attempted Murder Case

After being arrested and returned to the United States, former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown has pleaded not guilty to his attempted murder charge.
Last week, Miami Police confirmed that Antonio Brown was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Dubai and brought into custody to face charges of attempted murder, following an incident at a May 16 celebrity boxing match.
Brown allegedly got into a fight with another man during the boxing match in Miami. The former All-Pro wide receiver is accused of stealing a security guard’s gun and firing it in the direction of the man he fought.
According to Curt Anderson of the Associated Press, Brown’s lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, has filed a not guilty plea. The 37-year-old was transferring from New Jersey to Florida this morning and could appear in a Miami courtroom tomorrow, per Anderson.
Eiglarsh claims that Antonio Brown fired the gun in self-defense and “acted within his legal right to protect himself,” Anderson reported.
If convicted, the former Pittsburgh Steelers star could face up to 15 years in prison and be ordered to pay a fine of up to $10,000.
Antonio Brown’s Legal Troubles Have Tarnished His Legacy

From 2013 to 2018, Brown was by far the best wide receiver in the NFL. He eclipsed the 100-catch and 1,200-yard marks every season, leading the NFL in catches (2014 and 2015) and receiving yards (2014 and 2017) both times.
Unfortunately, Brown’s behavior legal issues during and after his playing career have ruined his legacy. He was released by the New England Patriots after one game after two women accused him of sexual misconduct.
Brown’s release from the Pats came soon after he was released by the Oakland Raiders for destructive behavior. He has also been charged numerous times for unpaid child support and sentenced to probation for assaulting a truck driver in 2020.
